You may be asking yourself, "does she intend to blog every day?" Well, the answer is, I'm going to try. Today I'd like to talk about decks/cards. Specifically, my absolute favorite Fool card.
I like to see the Fool as "me." Or "you" or the person you are reading for (I think that's the most popular opinion of the Fool). That's why I think this incredible image by Julie Cuccia-Watts from the Ancestral Path Tarot is the best Fool I've ever seen.
The traditional Fool is dressed something like a hobo or a court jester with a sack over his back and a little dog nipping at his heels, about to walk off a cliff without noticing.
I like the Ancestral Path Tarot's Fool (I'd say Julie's Fool, but she has so many beautiful decks it wouldn't be quite specific enough. Seriously, check out her decks. They are gorgeous!) because it depicts the reader as the Fool, the one about to start the Fool's Journey. I know this is a bit redundant for my fellow Taroists, but the Fool's Journey is generally viewed as a spiritual journey through different experiences and trials. It is one of the greatest, if not the great story of Tarot.
Nancy and I did a very good job of writing the Fool's Journey in Psychic Tarot, in my humble opinion. If you like, you can message me and I can probably get you a copy. I generally keep a few on hand. Otherwise, Psychic Tarot is available from many fine book retailers. End sales pitch.
What are your favorite Fools? I'm always eager to learn about my readers, and the decks they love. Don't be shy. Hit me up with a comment and let me know which deck you think has the best Fool.
